Help! Can I return my money back?

Hi need help please answer if u know or u had similar situation . I was searching for apartment through realestate agent . She show me basement apartment in private house so after 3 hours I went back to office with deposite for basement I was ready to rent a place and she told me that to take out apartment from market I have to give her deposite I give it to her 550$ deposite around 3 pm next day 2 pm I send her message that I find out that renting basement it is illigal in NY so I back up . I ask her to give my money back but she refused she say that in application. For which I sign it says if u brake deal money are not refundable .
My question is what should I do ???
Where I can report on her ???
Sall I scare her that I could put basement owner in trubble if she is not going to give my money back ?? V
Please help I would really apriciate

private investigation while on workers comp laws? Please help.?

Okay so without going in to too much detail about this whole ordeal I have a question about being followed while being on workers comp. My mother who was hurt November of 2010 at work filed all nessesary paper work and continued to work as she kept getting misdiagnosed. After a couple month in pain she was finally diagnosed with a tear in her shoulder muscle and a detached bicep tendon. After surgery in April of 2011 and weeks of therapy she was told she could go back to work in August. After three or so days of work she re-injured herself because she was truly not ready to go back (therapy and another doctor agreed). She has been going to therapy and as she comes to find out the surgeon misdiagnosed her when she re-injured herself , as shown by reports and another doctor—who the comp people actually sent her too. — So anyway with all those details….

She find out someone is following her, she went to court once and they told the judge what they had found, which was nothing really. They wanted to settle with her, but because she does not know what the state of her shoulder is in now and in the future her lawyer ( YES SHE HAS ONE) advised her to visit the doctor again next month on her appt date before the accept or go to court. Anyway today she went to her boyfriend realestate/tax office to help him answer some phones, which she does sometimes. She has been released by doctors to do 8hour sedentary work and answer phones, her previous employer however has not found a job for her. She is usually an LPN. A man who did not introduce himself walked in to the office and asked one of the men there question about her, he was rather disheveled and actually made a pretty gross mess in the bathroom and the bathroom floor while there. After asking my mother and her boyfriend some strange questions he finally left. He then passed the office a couple more times and sat on a road watching the office. They tried to find him in the car but the windows were too tinted to see him there but after about 2 minutes the car was gone.

Because my mother has a lawyer was it against the law to approach my mother and ask her questions, posing as someone who wanted to buy a house and have his taxes lowered.

sorry this is so long I just can’t find much on the laws for PI’s and comp laws.
She did contact her lawyer he seemed unconcerned, which worries me. Also she was afraid that it was some nut following her. Especially because of the mess he made in the bathroom and the intense interest he had in her.
Why shouldn’t she be "working" she is not getting paid and she is able according to her doctor to sit for 8 hours and answer phone? So if she’s cleared to do that why couldn’t she do it there if she could do it at her normal place of employment if they would have found a position for her?

My dad used to moonlight as a work comp investigator. Yes they can follow you around and photograph you when you are out in public. They can even talk to you.

If your mother is on work comp the insurance company is paying her to rest up or go to therapy. NOT to do volunteer work, regardless of whether she could do it at her job or not. She can sit on her front porch and talk on the phone all day. She cannot play receptionist in a business.

She could easily lose her WC benefits AND her job

i want to know what has happened to my ultimate favorite program tonight…house in the country \ the english realestate hunt show…the wine is ready, and ….it is not on…..why….yes i know it is on fridays but i am too tired to stay up for all episodes generally and nine times out of ten miss homes under the hammer, which i love too… so sundays is my ultimate pleasure…before heading back to school to manage the high school behavioural rat bags….the wine is ready and the show is not on…NO….Why carolynne…..handymum@skymesh.com.au

I would suggest looking on the programs website to see if they are taking some kind of break or if they have canceled the show. Usually they will put on repeats if the show is on a break. We have similar shows here in the US.

Which method is better protection against inflation?

precious metals or realestate. The prices for silver is striking at the moment. But with realestate you can rent them out for the moment and after a few decades you can sell em for more. If I am saving up for a down payment would storing it in precious metals be wise so by the time I am ready to buy my home the money I have will keep up with inflation.

Neither.

In the past, there were periods when it was thought that real estate prices could only go up. Surely you know better than that now, after the recent housing bubble bursts all over the world.

As for precious metals, they too are not very good hedges against inflation.

Some Realtors specialize in this. Most do not think there is enough money involved to do this. But their pay comes from the landlord- you would not be paying.

You have to obtain a real estate license, and be hired by a broker, at that point you pay to join the real estate board, and you pay for access to the data base.

i am about to write the final exam and then i will be looking for a sales job, but do most brokerages offer training? OREA courses don’t do much for you at all in terms of the reality of commercial realty representation, so i’m going to be needing a lot of hands-on training. thanks.

I imagine it works similar to the way it works in the US. In the US the individual brokerage would provide on the job training or some sort of mentor-ship, but commercial brokers are a great deal more picky about rookies coming into the business so if you don’t have any sales experience it will be tougher to find a good broker. Often there is continuing education apart what is necessary for licensing that is valued. Where I am from one such program is with CCIM (see link) which can add to your credibility to your commercial real estate peers, and clientele.

Me and my fiance I will be with him forever and will marry him when I’m ready I’m no stranger to relationships and to marrage I am not dumb or nieve I will marry him when I’m ready and I know I’m not ready now so we have had more problems then most married people we are Ment to be and we plan on staying that way he has improved 99% from what he was when I met him we r both trying realty hard from communication to trying to know each other over again we have been friends for over ten years and we both want this he has had trouble with lieing cheating and being 99% mean I think he is bipolar and he is willing to get help I have not stooped to his level to get revenge I’m not that way I am 100% honest we will work things out and we r both trying very hard becuse its what we both want I can trust him now and that’s not something I give away ever.he is willing to get help and I stand beside him all the way. I just need some kind of support and advise how do I deal I’m 32to yrs old and have my life together I feel so empty and dead inside but he makes every effort to make it right. Lee, I feel if there’s a possibility of "mental issues" with him, THIS should be your very first priority. Go see a Professional & get his/her opinion & diagnosis done & complete. It’s just possible this could be where much of your situations in your relationship are stemming from. IF so, he could easily be given the proper meds. to correct his problem & hopefully that would end or at least be a BIG help for you. I suggest you have that done & go from there. IF he’s been improving on other issues, you at least know he’s doing his best to make things the best he can for you both. I’m sure if you’re both working twds. the SAME goals, you just can make things happen for a future of happiness for you both…all the best to you, honey…:)

I have a few questions about rental properties?

I am getting ready to move soon and it is a pretty big move. We are moving several states away. So, while we were on vacation for Christmas, we took some time to look at rental houses. We found a house that we like in a location that we like.

However, after the company gave us the keys to look at it and we went in there, we saw that it was in no condition to be rented yet. It was still dirty. It looked like the people had just moved out. There was food still in the refrigerator. Face plates were missing from some outlets. It really needed to be cleaned. So we went back and told the company we would take the house if it was cleaned and specific repairs were made.

They said they were waiting on the owner to give them the money to do it and that they could use money from our first month’s rent to do it if the owner allowed them. They promised in writing the the property would be cleaned 5 days prior to move-in.

We’re still talking with them. But it seems weird to me that they’d show a property without it being cleaned in the first place. Isn’t that supposed to be done already?

We do want the house, but we are far away and don’t have a way to go check on it to ensure it is cleaned before we get there if we rent it. I don’t want to show up to see it in the same condition.

Is there some higher company that realty agencies need to answer to?

What will you do if you arrive and are obligated to move into a dirty house? Most property management companies would not let you see a house that has not been cleaned, and the concept that they are "waiting on the owner" to give them the money to clean it is really silly. There should be sufficient funds from the former tenant’s security deposit. If you want to move forward, ask them to send you photos of the house already cleaned up before you send them any money.

And no, realty agencies don’t have a "higher power". The only one they answer to is their clients unless they are doing something illegal – and renting out a dirty house is hardly illegal.
